I did my final exam on becker..and there was a simulation
where I had to do JE. Most of my debits were correct..in
terms of the account name and amount. - But they were in
different order than the answer key. So, the software
marked it wrong and I ended up getting a low score. Below
is what I am taking about:

MY ANSWER:

DR Cash        25,000
DR Acc. Depr    60,000
DR New building 100,000
CR       Old Building   150,000
CR       Gain            35,000

*****CORRECT ANSWER(BECKER):

DR New building 72,000
DR Cash        25,000*
DR Acc. Depr    60,000*
CR       Old Building   150,000
CR       Gain            7,000

For DR side, 2/3 of entries ARE correct. But they still
marked it WRONG because they were not in the same order.
What should I do? Should I be concerned? Please let me
know..thanks alot.

So what I do is assume I would get it right on the exam
and add it to my score...Ultimately I don't think it
matters the order that the journal entries are in (at
least I've
never seen or heard in my accounting classes or review
classes, Yaegar). In other words, that sounds like a
material matter for the exam, If it was something like
that
I'm sure someone would of mentioned it by now somewhere
on
the board, in classes or during review...

Although your answer is still wrong in total, I never
used Becker do they say your wrong on certain parts or
just the whole question

hello,

In the real exam, I hope the system recognizes the
entries even if in different order.

Becker does give partial credit. I mean, If only my CR(s)
are right, then it will give me points for that. But for
reason, Becker marked couple of the CORRECT JE simply
because it was in different order.

Thanks for your response.
