Hey all! I'm taking FAR on Monday Feb 21st. I'm
nervousss and needed some advice as to which direction to
go on my studying.

I've been studying non stop lately but I may have
buckled down too late. I'm using the Becker software and
have watched each lecture at least once and done a ton of
questions from each chapter. I'm watching the lectures
again.. re-watching the last two today and tomorrow.

Should I keep doing MCs after that or spend more time
sitting down and memorizing the material that hasn't
stuck yet? or spend more time reviewing all the examples?

What did you all do in your final two weeks before the
exam? From where I am now is it possible to take the
exam Feb 21st or should I consider postponing to the next
testing window?

Any advice would be greatlyyy appreciated!

Sounds like you're on the right track. Keep it up!
probably tons of MCs to identify weak areas & study the
weak areas!

FutureAcct - one thing you didn't mention was writing out your own notes to yourself.  Many people benefit from this teaching technique.  It's a self-teaching tool: re-write key concepts and mnemonics, getting it down to a front-and-back page.  Then each morning when you wake up, from now through your test day, re-write the front and back of the piece of paper.  The writing process helps drill it into your memory.  This really helped me with FAR.  The last two weeks are so critical.  You can do it, just remember that you need multiple ways to cram the info into your brain.  Just listening to lectures and working MCs might not be quite enough.  Try the re-writing technique!

P.S. I also did this with AUD for all the different audit reports and variations, and it worked great then too.

In approaching my final two weeks for each test, I take the first two days (maybe 3 for FAR since it is longer) doing 100 random M/C questions when I wake up and then spend the rest of the day watching and taking notes from the Roger Cram. I feel he really reinforces the topics and definitely helps the topics sink in (for me at least).

Then after those days I spend my entire time doing M/C and focusing on my weak areas, going over my notes, re-writing notes, re-watching lectures if necessary...

Thanks all! The advice and words of encouragement are
definitely helpful!

DumbButTrying - I've condensed my Becker outline to
briefly summarize each topic as if I had to give an
elevator speech about it - just so that I'd at least
remember it. I'm considering spending the next few days
creating a "formulas/journal entries/schedules/mnemenics"
cheat sheet type page kind of like what you
described..but how did you ever turn all that information
into one page front and back on each chapter? The
information is so massive? Are there certain key things
I should look out for? I think mine may come out to a
little bigger.

evancole - I've never really used Roger and I don't know
if I want to start a couple weeks before the exam but
I'll definitely re-watch my weak areas using the Becker
lectures. Thanks for the advice for the M/Cs though!
Doing the M/Cs is really where I learned whether I've
actually nailed a topic or have more work to do.
