I joined BAP when I was in school and it was a good experience for the reasons already mentioned. It does provide additional face time with potential employers only if you make it a point to go and introduce yourself to the campus recruiters that come to the meetings. BAP does look good and resumes as well because it is a highly recognized student organization.

Yes, join BAP. You can't avoid it if you want to have a better chance of getting a job in public accounting. It's a "requirement".

It helps getting a job so why wouldnt one join. I know its time and money, but if it helps you get a job, then it's worth it. I mean, we all paid 10k-150k to go to school for the sole purpose of getting a job.

i think its totally relay what area you're in. If you go to a college
that's in a metro area, then yes - the recruiters would be looking to
hire for that area. If you go to a college that's in a small little
college town, the range may be greater.
