I'm an associate at the Big 4 in Assurance.  The most incredible thing about this job is that you are given so much responsibility as a first year.  Although the job does not involve high accounting technicality at first, you are asked to communicate with clients (possibly CFO's, COO's and Controller's), utilize analytics to evaluate data and gain a big picture understanding of the entire audit process. As you progress at the firm, you are presented with more difficult and technical Accounting terminology and you are encouraged to specialize in a field.
It is not an easy job, but, when I look back at what I've learned, I am so impressed and proud of myself.  You realize that the knowledge you acquired in college/studying for the CPA exam is finally clear after practical application.
