I am not planning to take federal taxation courses. I believe I am going to have enough credits to meet the rquirements to sit for the exam.
My question is if I do not take federal taxation courses, do you think I am going to have a hard time understanding exam materials? Will it be really tough for me to study for the exam if i do not have previous knowledge for federal taxation?

In my humble opinion, I believe this portion of the exam will be difficult for you. Tax is such a broad subject that really requires a hearty understanding of the underlying concepts that not having taken a course could mean a lot more study time.

Santa Monica Community College has a comprehensive online tax course that covers a lot of the tax material and the class doesn't cost that much. That said, they recently implemented a two tier per unit cost. But even then, it isn't that expensive considering what you'll get.

Or you could buy the South-Western Federal Taxation (Comprehensive) textbook by author Raabe. It'll take you three months to study all the material. Don't buy the tax textbook by CCH. It's not as user friendly as the SWFT textbook.
