Welcome aboard, and glad that you are at the right place:
"I was just checking on some of the websites of the state boards but could not figure out how many eligible credit hrs they need."
This confusion typically is common for many new entrants so you are just doing fine.
First you have to decide from which state you plan to apply. Typically people from India prefer Delaware(DE), New Hampshire (NH), Colorado (CO) as the requirements are very minimal compared to other states. Remember you can register and pass from any state for the CPA course within USA. How ever if you want to practice you have to contact the local State CPA Board and get register after meeting certain formalities.
If you goto NASBA web site, they have a very good link for the whole USA (state wise). So first go to DE, NH, CO and decide accordingly. Other options goto Becker web site.
"I send my transcripts for the credit hrs evaluation, whether they will simply say if i am eligible or not or they will tell me how many the credit hrs I have, depending on my courses during B.com and MBA "
Remember the evaluation is State Specific. As far as I know there is no one Evaluation report which meets all state requirements. Once after you decide from which State you plan to apply, get the evaluation done for that state. Under each state CPA board they specifically list their preferred evaluation agencies name. You can look for FACS as they are popular for majority of states, easiest one with minimum requirements. I got it done from them only.
Usually in the evaluation report they will clearly recommend whether you are eligible or not for the state CPA you desire to apply. If not what subjects you need to cover. Start first looking under Colorado or NH. Delaware does require Taxation as a prerequisite.
Hope this clarifies your initial doubts. Please keep posting your questions until you are comfortable.
Goodluck
