Please help!  I most definately think I will need a review course to sit for the CPA exam here in CT.  I am having such a hard time on deciding which is best for me both vendor and type.  I believe I need the discipline of live lecture as well as the live assistance from a professor/instructor.  Does anyone have any experience with  courses here? Please add cost to your description....from the forum, I'm seeing that they are very expensive.  They also seem lengthy... Is this true for all?

On the contrary, can anyone give input on home study courses?  I'm not sure if this is the right choice for me, but I'd like to hear anyone's input.

Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Becker's live course consists of them popping in the CD from the home course and watching it...go with a home course.

Gleim is pretty good for the money, you get a lot of questions, decent books, practice simulations and lots of good stuff for writing essays. Some audio visual stuff as well. If you think an insructor or lecture would be helpful, check out Roger Phillip CPA review. I got some of the lectures, and he definitely keeps it interesting and has a lot of tips and tricks, especially mnemonics.

I took Becker and I honestly thought the live courses were pretty good. Some of the instructors were better then others.  If you have the money do Becker because if you fail you can do the option of getting the at home CD course the second time around if you don't like the instructors.  Also you can find out where their classes are and go check one out to see.  I think each section differs.  I have heard that Wiley is the worst of all.

I actually liked Roger's Review Book, I just passed audit on the first try by just using the 2005 copy.
