i just took my last exam.  should i wait until i get my score or apply now?  i'd hate to apply and received a job interview, and having to them them that i've failed.

Are you currently employed? I don't think it carrys much weight to have the exam done if you have no real world experience. In Minnesota you can't be certified unless you have 1-2 years of experience(depending on when you took the exam).

If you are employed, then I would definetely wait until you are passed and a CPA before looking for a new job, it was hard for me to wait, but I think it will be worth it.

A CPA is a compliment to your skills, not a guaruntee to better jobs. Just like an MBA, many people think that obtaining one will all of a sudden open up great employment opportunities. However, it is only one component, granted an important one, towards obtaining a good position. Prior experience, leadership and volunteer work, GPA, networking - all play important roles with networking being the most important.
