I graduated in 2001 from my accounting undergrad and have not really worked in the field since. I pretty much had to start from scratch when learning most of the topics for the CPA exam.

If you graduated in 2001 and have not really worked in the field, expect to put in double to triple the amount of time that someone right out of college takes. Its just that we have no base anymore of the material and I'm sure you forgot mostly everything.

Your just going to have to get a study guide and put in the study hours, it is possible as the CPA exam is not as difficult as peple make it seem, the questions are rather easy to  mid level.

Thanks Eddie,

It was in my mind.Presently I am studying for CMA because I reside in Pakistan and I can appear in CMA from here on line but for CPA I have to come to USA. I already applied for Canadian immigration and that would be easy to come USA from Canada to appear in CPA exams which is my dream to pass and get related job although I am a banker with 12 years experience.

The reason behind getting in touch with CMA studies to familiar with the format and pattern of USA accoutancy professional exams, if i passed CMA I will cover most of the area of  two parts of CPA. Am i doing right thing? Please advise and in your opinion one can get the opportunities in banking field after having CMA and CPA certifications?
