Iam B.com and taking an accounting certification for 24 semester hrs in UC extension. I would like to sit for California board only and aiming to take the license also. What else should I study to be eligible for CA?
The board said that they want to see the degree conferral in the evaluation certificate.Any help is greatly appreciated.

For CA you also need 24 semester hours of business subjects (for example: business administration, computer science/information systems, business communications, economics, business law, finance, business management, marketing, mathmatics, statistics). You probably already have more than 24 semester hours of these subjects under your B Com. You want a total of 150 semester hours or more to be eligible for a CA license.

The evaluation certificate will show conferral if you have completed all course and graduation requirements for your B Com.

Hi lola_m,

Thanks for the reply. For CA , there are 2 pathways. 120 semester hrs is enough for pathway1. But, for B.com they will give only 90 semester hrs and that is not equivalent to US Bachelor. But the board wanted to see in the evaluation certificate equivalent to US Bachelor.
Please correct me if I have misunderstood any requirement for California.

Oh I see, you got your B Com from a 3 year college overseas? You are correct about the requirements in that case - even though your degree is conferred it will not be considered until you have enough hours to make up the equivalent of a US bachelors.
