I have done B.Com(internal, 3 years) + M.Com(2 years) and Diploma in taxation law(1 year course) from Pune university, India. I do have following questions. I will be thankful for response and help.

1. Which state I will be eligible to appear for CPA exam?

2. I have heard that there are few subjects for which I have to do external courses to fill in credit hours for that subject. Any idea?

3. I am staying in Chicago, so will I fit for IL state?

I will prefer state where I do not have to do any extra course. Can anyone please respond this post?

You should check your state board of accountancy website & cross check education requirements with your credits already earned in India. You can figure it out from there.

For WA state, I have seen that they are lenient about CLEP & DANTES Exam & accepts credits for those. So if you don't have some credits you can also go for self-study & appear take Computerized tests in your nearest center & that including Books, exam fees etc., will be max $100. First you have to check if your state board permits that.
