I am planning to apply for my eligibility approval. The CPA's website says that all tests are graded by the AICPA. What I need to know is that is there one state more lenient than the other when it comes to grading exams? I have heard that New York is the toughest grader. But are their any states that are easier or are they all the same?

Because the CPA exam is a uniform exam, that means exam content is the same no matter what state you take it in or apply for licensure in.

This also means that they are all graded the same - besides, since only the communications section is human-graded, all the exams basically run through the same computers. So unless there is some very lax CPA exam grader giving perfect scores for sub par communications (which I haven't heard of!), you're not better off in one state or another.

The only difference is the actual requirements of that particular state to be able to sit for the CPA exam in that state.
