Ok, this pisses me off!! I purchased the "ethics" CD about a year ago on the student discount from Illinois CPA Society, and here I go, trying to take the course online ... and voila receive the message "The course no longer offered by AICPA"! Oh is that right, the course has expired??? You want me to spend more money on a NEWER version of the same s**t of yours ?!!! I'm sorry but I'm really pissed right now!

I'll call them in a minute but anyone else had the same problem?

Well, I did call the AICPA...It appears they have no control over what their "affiliates" sell and so my course expired in March 2007! Ridiculous. Anyway, I had to fork over additional 100+ bucks, although I'm pretty sure that the content of course will be exactly the same with minor changes...but I had to buy the new one, otherwise they wouldn't be able to accept my grade.
Hope to high heaven I passed my last two exams. If I have to fork over another $400 to AICPA, I might just blow off!

Why did you buy it before you passed the CPA exam?

In Illinois, you can take the ethics course at any time. You don't need to have passed the cpa exam.  They actually recommend taking it before.

If you purchased the CD about a year ago, it clearly says (either on the stuff that came with it, or on the AICPA's site, that it's only good for a year).  I purchased mine from the IL cPa society too, but read the information.
