Hi VanSnootington,

I just took FARE today for the 2nd time, and it was SO much more difficult than the 1st time I took it.  I've taken all four of the exams at least once now, and if I had known how difficult FARE was I would have taken them in this order:

1. FARE
2. REG
3. AUD
4. BEC

I think it's best to start out with the most difficult (there's just TOO much information to cover in FARE) and then end with the "easiest" (however, I'm not implying that BEC was really easy - just the "easiest" for me because simulations are always my weakest section and BEC didn't have any).

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck!

FAR is a beast!  It's just soooo much material!

FAR is the easiest????? You r joking right?

Even if you know financial accounting, the amount of material is endless!! You have to know every single detail in your book, because they like to test all the small things....

In my case, the FAR exam was not that brutal (in contrast with my REG exam), but the preparation for it was a very painful process (I was studying nearly 13-14 hours/day for 1 1/2 month. My only break was on Easter day). Even after that, I could not remember some of the details the time of the exam.

With hindsight, I would have started my CPA journey with FAR. My two cents

I am sure your "sources" were joking about FAR being the easiest. You bet.

There is no way FAR is the easiest! First of all it's one of the longest tests. To this day, I still don't know why Audit gives you more hours 4.5 compared to the 4 you get for FAR. They have the same amount of questions but FAR has computations while Audit has 90% theory questions. If you compare the FAR book it really seems that it is the size of BEC,Audit and Reg all put together. (maybe not that much but close). I came out of FAR convincing myself that I failed even after putting in 120-130 hours into it.
