Can anyone provide guidance on the work requirements in NJ.  There seems to be some confusion around this area and I just wanted some further clarification.  Do you need audit experience to qualify to become a CPA in NJ.  I have almost 7 years of work experience in finance an just wanted to verify.   I graduated in 2002 and obtains MS accounting in 2007.  I have 2 parts of the exam so far but wanted to get some insight into the audit experience.

HI All, I am from NJ and finally passed all four parts of the CPA exam.

NJ Board experience requirements:

Either 1 yr public Acct Experience or 4 years of non-public Acct experience.

I have been working in non public Acct from last four years in 3 different companies. My current manager in inactive CPA so I can’t use my current company experience and my first job manager have left the company. I only can use my 2nd company work experience of 2 and half years.

My question is how do I get the four-year experience fulfill.

Is there any other state that does not require work experience?

Any help would be helpful. I have more than 150 credits and I have MBA in Accounting.

There are many states that will accept one year of non-public accounting experience, Illinois for example.
