In the exam , can we use the copy paste function from research tab to communication tab? Just did the becker final exam 2, and the answer in communication tab was easily available in research. Can some1 please confirm this?

kars 82

how much did you score in both the exams?

i did the first exam today and got a 69!:(but have a few more days to revise hard.

Do you know the marks weightage? cuz becker gave a mark to one multiple choice as well as a mark for the whole communication section?doesnt make sense.

i dont think we should rely on the given proffesional literature for communication question.

thanks

You mention copy-paste.  I am wondering - are you using 2009 or 2007/2008 review materials?  The research tab function changed dramatically in mid-2008.  If you haven't yet used the exam tutorial at CPA-Exam.org, you need to do so: http://www.cpa-exam.org/lrc/exam_tutorial_parallel.html.  The post-exam survey will ask you if you did this.

The quick answer to your question is, Yes, you can look up the communication answer in the research tab.  BUT - should you????

This might be a good idea to try for REG and AUD.  The library of research material is resonably limited for REG and AUD.

FAR is a different animal.  The library of FAR research material is very extensive.  Unless you find your answer on the first or second hit, you can very easily get lost and using up precious time that you need for the essay.

hey thanx for the quick reply. I'm, using the 2009 becker material. In final exam 2, the research tab was exactly the same as asked in the communications tab.We could literally copy-paste the matter. So was just wondering.
Aries 1, i took the exam and scored in the 70s for the both tests mcqs. Good luck to u ..!!We both apparently take the exam on the same day..!

This is what my Becker live teacher said on this topic.

You can use the research function to find your answers for your communication tab.  And you can use any hints given in the other tabs that you worked prior to getting to the communication tab.

He said you can copy and paste, but don't even think of doing it.  Just read what you found and put it in your own words.  You will loose points if you copy and paste - after all, you are not really showing any writing skills if you quote the regs.

He also said if you happen to know the SFAS that the communication is refering to, then accessing it and doing a search within might be a good use of your time.  If you are truely stumped, that is.  But if you don't know standard's number, and you have somewhat of an idea how the rules go, you are better off writing it yourself off the top of your head.  Even if you get the rules a bit wrong, its your writing style they are grading.
