do we actually have to know how to do the calculations for macrs depreciation without the actual table for the exam?

Just know the basic class lives and what convention is used.

Mid year for most tangible prop, mid month for real prop, and mid quarter for lumped acquisitions near the end of the year.

You won't need to remember the depreciation factors.

thank you. Thats what I thought, but when I went through the becker final review, they actually had a question where you had to calculate the actual amount and I was lost without the table.

The table will be provided for you but i'll say still know how to calculate the macrs depr.
