Hi to all of you. First a lot respect to everyone who is trying to pas ths exam and to the ones that already passed. I have working in accounting and individual taxes for 6 years and I finally got my letter to be able to take the exam. Since my studies were n finance I had to take accounting credits as my time allowed me so it took me 3 years. Anyway, I got enough credit but I have no taken neither advanced nor consolidation, should I go ahead and take the becker review course and start to take the exam, or should I take this fall advanced and start to take the exam next year?

thanks for your opinions

I would think you would be fine to sit for REG AUD and BEC without this mattering much, but I can't speak for FAR.  I am also not familiar with Becker, but they might start you out in FAR.  I would think it would be possible to learn the topics needed to pass the exam without the corresponding coursework completed, it just might take a little more time.  Ultimately, it will depend on how well you absorb the material, how much time you can invest, and how well you know the rest of the material.

I see you passed REG with 99!!, congrats!! do you have a lot of experience with taxes?, I have prepared individual taxes for 6 years and I think I have dealt a lot with Sch E, A, C, FARM, deprec, but I my experience in corporate taxes is limited, I prepare some easy ones. what percentage of invid taxes was in your test?

I think if you did all that you will be fine in REG. I had no Corporate Tax experience, and no Corporate Tax class. Becker taught me this from scratch and did really well.

I'm a little hesitant to tell you to sit for FAR before having Advanced Accounting. A lot will depend on how you learn. That part still confuses me, but I managed to learn enough and squeaked by.

I don't think taking advanced accounting is necessary.  If you have intermediate accounting, that should be good enough.  but i would start with FAR first just to get it out of the way first.
