I will be starting my studying to retake FAR next window.  I scored a 70 knowing going to the exam that I was not fully prepared.  I am using becker and the 9 chapters are killing me.  Any suggestions on the approach I should take?

I tend to focus first on things I find the most difficult - like bonds, leases and etc., as when you begin you have the most energy.Make a plan then chisel away. Just like doing a workout - when it hurts and you can't study anymore, keep on studying. Study every free minute you have, at least 2.5 hours on a weekday and 6 hours each weekend.  Becker will get you through.  I recommend keeping a notebook with correct answers to questions you are getting wrong and then just carry it with you and re-read those.  Also make sure you re-read the book before the exam.

I think using the same Becker materials for studying (viewing lectures, reading the text, taking notes) will be fine. If I were in your position I would try to get different MCQs. By the time I was done studying for FAR I could answer the mcq questions before looking at the answer choices. This is fine if you understand the principles and context of the question, but after doing the mcq several times I was naturally attracted towards the right answer even if my grasp of the question was weak.

From reading other posts, there are several good sources of mcq out there at reasonable prices. Overall, focus on your weaknesses and try to get exposure to different practice questions.

Take it one chapter at a time. Use some other review material too so that u solve different MCQ's.

You get used to the MCQ's in Becker after a while so its good to use a supplementary material to study
