california requires 150 hours of education and 1 year of work experience. how do you measure how many hours of education you had? does 120 quarter units equal 120 hours?

Measured in semester hours. 1 Semester hour = 1.5 Quarter hour, so you would need 180 quarter hours.
Hope this helps.

Also different states may measure quarter hours differently. In Illinois, they figured that 1 quarter hour was equal to 2/3 of one semester hour. So if you have 100 quarter credit hours it would translate here to around 66 semester hours. That's how they evaluated my credits at least.

Can some one explain me what exactly 150 Credit hours?
What I mean 4 year college will give you 120 credit right? Now I need another 30 credit. Lets assume I am selecting a state, where they do not care about what you take in reaming 30 credit, CLEP- Online- Course etc... And I get my 30 credits by using different way eg CLEP-DNATE- AEC- then I transfer to the RA college (From where I got my 4 year accounting degree) Will they consider those credit which is transcripted in Regionally Accredited College but course not taken from that college. My Collage let me take PLA (Prior Learning Assessment), and award me credit. So state board will consider these credits?
Bottom line, from where I take class they do not award any credit- But I transfer to RA college they award credit for those classes, will it count toward my 150 Credit?
I have confused you enough?
PS
Put accounting/business/fed tax credit in side I have all of them, I am talking about only raw 30 credit.
TIA

You have to check with your school to make sure that they will add the CLEP/Dantes scores to your transcript after you've already graduated. I have a feeling that they probably won't though.
If your state allows the CLEP/Dantes to be transcribed at a different institution than the one where you earned your 120 credits, you could look into Excelsior College. They'll take all of your credits, bank them, and compile them onto one transcript.
Anyway, the 150-credit rule has to be one of the dumbest requirements of all for professional certification. Every other profession (engineers, nurses, doctors) has a uniform standard of education requirements that rarely vary by state, but not accountants.
It's completely asinine. One could easily meet the business/accounting requirements within 120 credits, and still need the additional 30 credits. Those 30 credits could be in basket-weaving, crochet, marine biology, or archeology. How is any of that going to make me a better accountant? It's simply a cash cow for some of these schools.
