Can anyone comment on how CPA career is going to be within next few years when US accounting will completely merge according to IFRS standards? What would be job scenarios?

We are going to see "the SOX effect" again (hopefully to a lesser extent).
Public accounting firms will again be needed to assure compliance with the
new standards. Existing CPAs will be required to take CPE credits on IFRS
related subjects. The IFRS will be taught at schools and incorporated in the
CPA exam. Job scenarios - the demand for accountants knowledgeable of
IFRS will likely go up. My advice - be proactive and go for the ACCA
certification. You will be as good as gold when the IFRS kick in the USA.

Basically a chartered accountant under IFRS. By far the most popular
accounting designation in Europe right now and known in the USA as
well.
It's not a piece of cake though. It's definitely harder than the CPA.
