In all my readings, I still do not have a good definition of what a transition obligation is.
What is this? Example?

A few years back, when companies were first required to use SFAS 87 in accounting for pensions, they had to make an adjustment when they initially adopted SFAS 87. This adjustment, which was booked to other comprehensive income, is called the "transition obligation," which gets amortized out of AOCI each year. This is about all you need to know about transition obligations.

No problem. How're you doing btw? I've been tired and studying too slowly due to tax season these days, but now that we're at 9/15, there are hopeful signs here that we won't be as busy for 10/15. I need all the study time I can get, as my BEC will be 2 days before your FAR.

I am doing well. I finished covering all the material about 3 days ago and now have just over 3 weeks for review of everything - multiple times.
I am already scoring above 80 on most everything in Gleim. I hope to improve upon the weak areas and basically build confidence over the next few weeks so that I can hopefully pull off a repeat performance of my REG exam experience.
After that, its BEC in 51 days - going to sit for it (already scheduled) the last day of the window.
I'll finish AUD in late Jan and get this CPA credential behind me. Then its back to trying to rejoin the workforce (either piloting or accounting - likely the latter since flying jobs are VERY hard to come by right now).
I don't see how you score so well and work full time. I am not exactly being recruited by MENSA, but given my unemployed status, I have an advantage over many other working stiffs - but still am not quite to your level. :)
