I just started reading the AICPA's Comprehensive Course in Professional Ethics for the Ethics Exam requirement and I was wondering if anybody here has taken the exam without reading the book and whether or not they passed on the first try without reading the book?

I'm wondering whether it's worth using one of my online attempts to take the exam without studying the book or not. Also, does anybody know whether the exam is timed? Like could I spend 24 hours straight on the exam with the book open?

Also, I passed the Regulation section of the CPA exam last, and was wondering if the professional ethics material that I studied for it is sufficient to pass the Ethics Exam if it's all still fresh in my memory.

I passed the test without studying.  Studying or even going through the course is a complete waste of time in my opinion.  I just looked up all the answers

The test questions should be in the back of the book.  I would recommend starting there, looking up answers, and marking them in that section.  Then when you have gone through everything, I would start the test online.

Thanks for the great advice! I will probably end up reading the entire book anyway after I take the exam, just to feel good about it.

Having taken the REG lastly, I would say that the questions on the Ethics Exam are way easier than the CPA Exam's questions regardless of whether you read the Ethics book or not. Also, I would advise using the table of contents as opposed to the index for trying to find support for your answer selections.
