Does anyone have experience or advice for applying under 4.1c "other equivalent experience"?
I worked under an active CPA at a firm that provided accounting services to outside clients. My firm was not a CPA firm and our clients were private companies.
I compiled financial statements, which is a type of accounting and review service. However, the application asks if I wrote an opinion and I did not. However, under SSARS a written opinion or report is not necessary if an understanding was reached with the client that the financial statements would not be used by a third party (i.e. bank, or anyone aside from the client).
This seems to be the sticking point on my application, that I didn't write an opinion. I'm frustrated because I did provide an accounting service and I should be eligible for the "other equivalent experience" avenue of obtaining my license.
Does anyone have similar experience or advice you can share? Nasba credentials for Colorado and I'm having difficulty expressing that my experience counts.
Thanks!
