First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! Gosh I wish more ppl like you would post on here!!!!! I keep telling ppl that firms are hiring and they keep saying this is not the case. But it is the case and THANK YOU p1nkch1ck for illustrating my point. I think ppl who get internships and jobs don't come on these boards. Misery loves company as they say. It's the same as the Chronice for PhDs aspiring to be professors my husband looks at regularly and he's not in the market yet.
I don't think alot of candidates get the phone screening and those that do I hope rarely fail it altogether. I think you have a good chance of getting in the offices to meet with the partners/managers for an interview!
I think I answered this question for someone else this month. No biggie. The phone interview with the Big 4 is a run through of your resume so be prepared to talk about what you have on it. They'll say oh I see you worked/interned at X Co...can you tell me a little about that? etc. Of course sound upbeat, clear and positive the entire time. Give off good vibes so that they want to bring you in to meet with you in person. Appear competent and demonstrate how your achievements make you a good fit for the area in accounting that you are interested in and reassure them that you are up for a challenge. When talking about your experiences try to show your team work skills and that you are a born leader(if possible). You can say that you know how vital this is in audit/tax and you had a good rapport with your team members. Have questions ready to ask at the end also and know relevant info on KPMG.
