I just sat for my last exam and now await the score. In terms of experience, I don't have any sufficient experience as an accountant. In my last job, I did the accounting on Quickbooks along with other job duties. It was a small company, and so they didn't hire a person primarily for accounting. So accounting was a part of my job function. For the past year, I have been willingly unemployed due to personal reasons. Now I am ready to go back in the workforce and coincidentally completed my CPA examinations (or almost completed). I don't have enough work experience to qualify for a license. So I am looking for a job that will put my academic learning into practice and also gain required license experience. I have been applying for jobs in the Dallas/Irving area and have not been receiving any decent offers. I got a couple of calls offering around $35,000-$40,000. I was making more than $40k even before my completing my cpa and a masters degree. This is killing my confidence!
How do I design my resume regarding this cpa so I can attract more employers? Also, how much money should I expect for completing cpa exams with brief accounting experience? Any input will be greatly appreciated!
