I have been studying for a little less than month.  Using Gleim I study one chapter every two days unless it's a weekend, then I study one chapter a day.  I read each subsection, take notes, and answer all the questions from the subsection on the Gleim test prep CD.  I answer each question and reanswer anything I got wrong.  Sometimes twice, until I am not getting anything wrong.  However I dont revisit what I already got right.

I won't be done with all 20 chapters until 4 days before the test.  When I complete each chapter I feel very strongly about the chapter.  However looking back over the chapters I have already completed and redoing any questions I once got wrong, there are definate areas that I really need to go over again.

I am scheduled to take FAR January 11.  My dilemna is this; once I have studied the chapters, should I go back through all the chapters and all the questions before taking the test?  I guess I don't know how to prepare for the exam once I have studied the chapters without redoing all the chapter questions a second time.  This would take another 2 - 3 weeks especially during busy season.  While I got higher than a 3.0 in college, I crammed for everything.  It's obvious cramming won't work with FAR.

Where do I go from here?  Any help or insight would really help.

if you are 1/2 way through the material, then STOP! Do a comprehensive 1 day review of everything you already covered, including MCQ and written communication.

Next, if you are still getting topics wrong from this review, make heavy notecards of it, and review everyday.  Just when you think you have it down, KEEP reviewing it, until it is spilling out of your ears.

After your 1 day review, pickup where you left off on the chapters.  When you are finished all the chapters, spend 2 days on your full comprehensive review with NO interruptions.

Every other day or so, go back and test yourself on random MCQ, mix it up, back and forth.  This keeps it fresh in your head.

It really helps to take specific notes on notecards to review everyday.  I have stacks of them, next to my bed, by computer, by coffee maker.  And when I don't want to study it, I study it anyway!!

You absolutely have to know Gov'tal and NFP.

One week before your test, you should be completely finished and getting through MCQ nonstop over and over.  You will really need to time yourself for 90 seconds or less for each question.
