Did anyone in this forum ever take CARE exam? (i.e. for foreign trained accountant like US CPA to get CA credential in Canada). I want to learn how difficult it is compared to US CPA (I passed US CPA in 2008).

For Ontario, you need to be a licensed CPA in good standing (active) from one of the substantially equivalent States to qualify for the CARE exam.
The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountant (CICA) offers a one week course which costs about C$1000 to prepare you for the CARE exam.
Your biggest challenge will be getting employed at an approved training office for 36 months (assuming you haven't worked in public accounting) to fulfill the work experience requirement. Competition for those spots is fierce.
