Wanted to see what the feelings are about an Abstract Company issuing 1099 misc to real estate agents for transactions that have run thru their business. This would also go along with any other services they have paid for throughout the year throught the escrow account.

Does this need to be done ?

Yes. With the exception of expense reimbursements, when payments exceed $600 they must be reported on a 1099misc.
