I just passed all the exams in Nov 2009.

Having received my score report in Jan 2010, I quickly encounter another problem - finding the right guy to sign my experience affidavit.

I am a Canadian Chinese having worked 3 years (in total) in internal audit in state-owned company and CPA firm.  But I found out that my ex-manager (AICPA certificate holder, not a practising cert holder) @ CPA firm did not qualify to sign my experience form.

Who can offer help?

Many thanks.

Please feel free to let me know via email: warrencini@yahoo.com.hk

Many many many thanks...

Which state did you pass your exam? Guam?

If Guam, either public or non-public accounting experience counts. How about your bosses in the state-owned company?

If it doesn't work, you can try to transfer your credits to another state to obtain a certificate. Illinois, for example, does not require working experience as long as you have the 150 semester hours fulfilled. If you want a permit to practice, you'll need to fulfill the CPE requirements (120 hours every 3 years).

Straight from the Illinois State Board of Accountancy homepage (http://www.illinois-cpa-exam.com/files/scale.pdf)

Transfer of Credits by Candidate Who Has Passed the Examination as a

Candidate from Another Jurisdiction.

1) A candidate who has passed the entire examination in another

jurisdiction, but who is ineligible to obtain a certificate from such

other jurisdiction may transfer the credits and receive a certificate

in Illinois provided:

A) the educational requirements of the Illinois statute were met

at the time of initially taking the exam or at the sitting at

which the candidate initially conditioned or passed the

exam; and

B) the applicant would be entitled to an Illinois certificate if

the examination had been taken under the Illinois statute

and this Part.

2) The fee in force must accompany the application for a transfer of

credits for the entire examination.

I never try this before but based on the information on the site it should be able to solve your problem. Let us know how it goes!
