Any MBA under Top 25 (maybe Top 30 but that's stretching a bit) is a waste of money except under one specific circumstance: 1) your employer is paying for it, and 2) you're getting promoted once you get the degree.
A top MBA program would be a waste for a CPA who plans to stay in public accounting for the length of his career. If he wanted to branch out into corporate, however, he might find the MBA more useful as a stepping stone into an executive position. A CPA would be better off getting a Macc, Master's in Tax, or a Master's in Auditing, etc.
