Most accounting software are similar, if you know how to use one it is easy to learn the other. I have never used Deltek but have used about 6 different accounting applications and realized that it was not hard to learn a new one having known and used another. Make the manual and help/search button your best friend and life will be easy

I've used Quickbooks and peachtree in my previous jobs . Now when I look at job postings they ask for either deltek or hyperion or great plains e.t.c

That is stopping me from applying to those firms.

Even for tax prep related jobs they ask for pro fx , cch e.t.c

Peachtree is not very different from Greatplains, I have used both. Do not hesitate to apply for a job just because they mention a software you are not familiar with. It will take you a couple of days to learn a new application once you have the basic knowledge. Pro fx and cch were quite easy to learn, I learnt them in a day and figured out the rest. Unless you are not interested in a position, just believe in yourself and give it a shot. At the interview you can say that you have knowledge of a diff software and you are a fast learner, each job allows a new employee a learning curve. I assume you are applying for a middle level accounting position. For these kind expectations are high but the pressure is not as intense as if you are applying for senior level positions. They will give time to learn your stuff, so go for it!

Thank you so much .

I am working part time as a tax preparer in  a tax office , when I put that on my resume do I say "tax preparer" or "tax associate" or "tax accountant"
