Hi,

Has anyone followed the Becker 6 months plan and passed the CPA on the first try?  I'm planning on sitting for my first exam (FAR) in July and would love the wrap up the exam in November before IFRS are introduced in 2011.  Is it possible?

Thanks!

I do think it is possible as long as you put in the time.  I haven't taken any of the tests but am using Becker.  I'm planning on sitting for FAR at the end of April and AUD at the end of May.  I'm then going to take June off but come back and take REG at the end of July and BEC at the end of August.  I honestly  haven't studied as much as they suggest but I've realized that I'm not near as rusty on a lot of the concepts of FAR that I thought I would be.

It is possible, but it is a lot of work.  you are looking at probably about 30-35 hours a week.  I tried it.  Passed my first exam AUD.  I did the questions up to the 90% like they say and received a 75.

Agreed. It is totally possible if you make the exam the center of your life. That's what I did.

Avoiding IFRS should be all the motivation you need, yes it's possible.
