In the 2009 textbook pg B5-65, it says to calculate the difference, you should always use standard to minus actual. But in pg B5-62, the equations it lists are all actual minus standard. I know it won't affect the conclusion, but still confusing.

No. It just means that one would be favorable and the other would be unfavorable.

CPA0123, i noticed that you passed FAR and REG with flying colors and then BEC (obviously still doing really well) you dropped by 10 points. Was BEC that much harder than the other sections? Any helpful tips for passing?

Oh no. BEC scoring is not the same as the other sections. You generally don't see people scoring more than a 93 or 94 as compared to 99 in other sections. Also, i did not put in all the effort for this exam. Maybe i was just too bored & took this kinda easy. I have always found Econ to be boring and i knew i screwed up in the exam too. I saw more questions from that topic than i ever thought. But that's ok, I am grateful that i passed! :)
