Hello all,

Apparently Intermediate Accounting I & II are on "HOLD" as the school is updating to a new version (no new enrollment at this time).  Does anyone know how long it typically takes for them to revise the curriculum?  Are there other schools out there offer independent study and in similar price range?

Thanks!

I called and spoke to someone at the school who seemed to
know her stuff. She indicated that they generally try to
get the accounting courses back up as quickly as possible
because they know that they are in high demand due to CPA
exam requirements. She didn't have a date for me, but
said that unlike some other courses that go up to 2 years
on a "hard hold" like this, these should be updated much
sooner. She indicated that signing up for the email
notification is definitely worth it as they actually do
use that.

She did also indicate that you could take the second one
right now if you have the textbook (it's not a hard hold,
but a hold due to unavailability of the textbook), but
the first one is a prereq for it, so, um, that doesn't do
me much good. If you need only the second one, that
should be easy as the textbook is very cheap (~$8-$10,
including shipping) on Amazon or Ebay.

Many Thanks, sirjake.

I ended up taking Intermediate Accounting at UCLA Extension (it's split into 3 courses with a total of 12 quarter units).  These courses are more expensive, but I don't want to wait because intermediate is a prereq for most other accounting courses and I want to get all my accounting classes done by end of next year.

I'm also taking taxation at LSU right now.

They have all sections of both classes on hold? That seems
odd since both are required for accounting and Intermediate
I is required for finance. I could see keeping some
sections on hold but not all of them.
