once i passed all four parts of the exam in NY, how long could i wait before obtaining the necessary job requirements?
for how long are my results valid? where could i read more about it?

If you passed all four parts and you received a letter from NASBA confirming the results than the status isn't going to expire. You can take your time getting the necessary work experience. You can definitely read more about this requirement for New York at http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/

Just confirming this. Someone on here told my 5 years
before, but when I called PA they told me the credits do
not expire once you pass.

Definitely depends on the state.  In OH they don't expire but I've read a post from someone else on there that mentioned an eight-year limit.
