I am exactly what you are. I am using Becker 2009 with the Yeager 2010 Cram.
I scored a 69 with Becker 2009 alone back in August. I felt unprepared, worn down, and doomed for failure. When studying for BEC (Becker again), I kept hearing about these Yeager Crams. I bought them... all four. At the end of Becker's BEC I felt lost, and like I hadn't mastered ANY of the subjects. I spent a week with Yeager's BEC... I was scoring 80-90% of their MCQ's. I felt like I really knew what I was doing. Cindy/Phil/etc actually TEACH you. Becker is an outline with a PowerPoint presentation with questions that are much harder than the exam, which kills your confidence. When I took BEC, I felt like every question was at least answerable... I may or may not have passed, but I felt good about it when I left the testingcenter. Which is huge... after FAR in August, I almost quit in the middle of testlet 2.
But let me tell you about my FAR experience. I spent a few days going back through the Becker FAR book to reacquant myself and dump all of the BEC out. I didn't open up the Becker software, no Becker questions, nothing. Not even the questions in the book. Just reviewing the chapter and making some flash cards.
Then I open up Yeager and all of the lights came on. In the first hour Phil is teaching you how to convert accrual to cash. When did Becker do that? All of the instructors actually go through MCQs and show you how to answer them. The Non-Profit lecture, while boring, Gary actually walks you through a bunch of questions. During Cash Flows, Cindy shows you how to answer MCQ's.
My overall opinion... Becker stinks. But they provided a great base for Yeager to come in and improve upon.
My advice to any and every Becker student... if at the end of your study session (before your final review) you don't feel you have mastered all of the subjects... order Cram immediately! They got it to me in like two days... it's a book and DVD... the DVD can be played on ANY computer AND it's yours for life... not the 18 month window Becker gives.
I took FAR again a few weeks ago and while I ran out of time, I felt like I slam-dunked it. I will be shocked if I failed. How many candidates do you hear say that after FAR? Yeager had my confidence up so high I couldn't fail. I haven't received my scores yet and like I said, ran out of time (that could be the only thing that fails me)... their MCQ's are just like the CPA questions... not like Beckers' harder than the exam questions.
BUY THIS CRAM! It is PERFECT for Becker failures (that's what I call myself, a Becker Failure... the Becker course is good for some, not me).
