Hi Guys,

I am currently studying for BEC(just started chapter 3).

The professor in Chapter 2 is horrible. Underline this, highlight this.  And even for the HW questions, the explanations do not help!

I am debating what materials to buy to to supplement which can help me understand the materials better.

Like someone said on this forum, Becker material for BEC doesn't seem sufficient to prepare me for exam. Especially with the new change, I am very discouraged studying for this exam.

Between Gleim, Willey, Yaegar... any suggestions?

It all depends on the style of teaching that works for you. I started out with Becker and to me Becker was more of a revision course for someone that already has a basic understanding of the material. I needed someone to actually teach me the material as we went along. For Reg I did alright with Becker because I was able to figure out most of the tax stuff as I went along. For BEC, I was doing well, and when I got to cost accounting, I was completely lost. Nothing made sense to me. Yeager BEC has been awesome. It takes me a few viewings of some of the lectures to get a handle of the calculations. I like the classroom style of teaching. If you want a review course that goes through some questions to help you comprehend the material then I would look into Yaeger. There are a lot of review programs out there but you do have to focus and study hard. The more you read the forums and read people's reviews you will constantly be doubting yourself and then before you know it you have spent money on different reviews. Try and stick with it and see how it goes, and if it really is not for you then switch but dont just switch. I can honestly say out of all the reviews I read, the negative ones seem to always stick and make you start questioning the review materials you have already committed to. There is a reason why you went with Becker the first time. I bought Becker because its all I knew when I started my CPA journey and when I discovered this forum I discovered some great programs.

I went with Becker since my employer paid for it. I am grateful since it's really expensive but very fratrated in some areas with their teaching.  I've read FIN and AUD for becker is awesome so I'm relieved.

I had the same problem with Becker for BEC.  When I got to the cost accounting, my scores fell to the floor and I could not get it.  After reading a bunch of posts here, I looked on E-Bay and bought Yeager BEC review.  I used it for the 3 chapters I could not master (I already had the Wiley book) and studied that for 3 weeks, then went back to Becker.  It made all the difference for me.  My exam score was 85%.

Yeager does a great job on variences, which you really have to master to pass this exam.

Becker was great for all the other exams.  You can't beat it.
