Very weird that I took my BEC exam today and found A LOT of questions that
had to do with internal control and audit. Is this because of the new 2011
change? I'll admit I didn't really look at the new material before this exam
simply because I ran out of time.

Overall, I took audit in october so luckily that helped me out a bit. I feel
more confident after this exam than I did after that one - i failed that one
miserably. Hopefully the results of this exam will be better.

Definitely can't skimp on Internal Control for this exam.  I would rather have business structure from before than corporate governance, enterprise risk management, and internal control. I had a few questions on the exam that weren't anywhere close to touched on the CPA review material that I couldn't even figure out by researching online in my free time after the exam.

BEC is ripe for questions out of the blue.  I remember questions that were not touched by my materials, and some of them where just WTF?

I passed BEC when business structure was tested - the IT parts were perfect examples of stuff being pulled out of the examiners back sides.  You needed a MIS degree to get those questions right.

But that being said, I still felt like I was pretty confident with the vast majority of the questions, and that it's a very doable exam, just try to prepare for the worst when you prepare for it.

I just feel like internal control should be with the audit section of the exam... not BEC. I was lucky because i previously studied audit, but for people who haven't yet, it can be very very tricky.
