Those of you who have taken BEC, what is your opinion on the amount
of formulas, calculations, NPV, TVMF, etc? I didn't expect this many
calculations to be in the BEC material, I thought that would be found in
FAR. I'm trying to allocate my studying time accordingly. Any and all
help is appreciated! Cheers!

There were less calculations. I got a good amount of the
new stuff, and IT. The calculations they had were also
less complicated, because they took time off of it. I
remember several variance questions, break-even, things
like that. Not too much on cost accounting stuff for me.

Celyn... what exactly do you mean by "new stuff?" And you didn't have
a lot of NPV & TVMF questions?

The fact that I had memorized a bunch of formulas definitely helped me with BEC this window (I'm still waiting on my score so I'm not sure if it helped me ENOUGH though). I noticed that they really tested on understanding the concepts. There weren't any simple "plug and play" calculations, more like "think and work backward" types of questions. Simple memorization wouldn't have helped me. I really needed to comprehend why NPV, IRR, etc. are used in the real world. Something else I've learned is that the briefest questions are deceptively tricky with their wording. I used to get that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I would see the screen fill up with a long question with lots of numbers. But then I realized those were actually easier, and the short intense ones were likelier to be fatal! Just my experience though.
