hi,
#1- you will only lose credit for that particular section (BEC,FAR,REG OR AUD). You only need to retake the expired credit section - not the other passed sections where the credits have not expired.
#2: you should consult your state board of accountancy:
In California, you must apply for licensing within 5 years after passing you CPA exams:
"Applicants must meet the requirements for ¡°active¡± status when they are approved for initial licensure. Therefore, it is required that the applicant have current knowledge of the practice of public accounting. This knowledge is demonstrated for initial licensure by the recent completion of the CPA exam and/or license experience within the past five years."
From my understanding, if you are applying for licensing in CA state, your previous experience from 2002-2004 should be counted since you have applied for licensing within 5 years after completing the CPA exams --"active status".
Or else, the Board might require you to take CPE hours to meet the "active" status.
Anyway, you should consult your state Board of Accountancy as the requirements differ and get over the exam ASAP.
Hope this helps.
