Greetings Everyone,

I passed all four parts of the exam. However, I do not
yet have the work experience required by the CA board to
be licensed. I start working at a CPA firm next week but
I know that I need 1 or 2 years experience (depending on
the pathway) before I can get the license. I have a few
questions to ask so here goes...

After passing all four parts (within 18 months) do I have
a time limit before the credits expire?

Do I apply for licensure now or should I wait until I get
the experience?

What about the Ethics Exam? Now or wait?

I got my last result a while back but I have really been
slacking but finally found a job and now reality hit and
I'm starting to get nervous about loosing credits. What
do you guys know about this?

Finally, I'm pretty sure that I can work under an active
CPA outside the US to gain the required attestation hours
but I'm not positive...Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks Everyone!!!

Hi asgamouh,

I have the same question re the time limit between passing the four exams and meeting the work experiance requirement. Although I haven't seen anywhere mentioned in the handbook a specific deadline but still it's something that worries me... Did you find answer to that question?

You should wait to meet your work experiance and pass ethics exams and then apply for the license.

Ethics exam results are valid for 2 years, so I'd suggest you taking the ethics exams about 6 months before your work experiance is met.

Hi,
I am in urgent need of talking or finding out how you
have passed the CPA exam. What courses you took in
accounting that prepared you the most for this exam (i.e.
Auditing, Advanced Accounting, Advanced tax? If you don't
mind perhaps I can call you or you can call me at 408-509-
5857. Thank you for your time.

debbieluu,

Hi,

I personnaly did not take any courses, I just used Wiley study text for REG, FAR, BEC and Wiley and Gleim for AUDIT.

This worked for me because I has some previous experiance in accountig/finance.

Do you mind giving me your email address, since I have a
