Hey, so i failed Reg for the third time (58,67,69). I am pretty depressed but time to move on, so my question is does anyone think i should shell out the money for a new review program like Roger or should i just stick with what i have? I have been using Yaeger and supplemented with the Gleim mcq software, but only did the Yaeger recommended questions and random gleim questions from the software. I was thinking of either purchasing Roger or maybe the Gleim full review. Another part of me is just thinking that I should keep what i have and really concentrate on working every single multiple choice question that i have using both wiley and the gleim software. Let me just say that i also have the becker 2011 reg book that i supplement for only weak areas in wiley like circular 230 and a few other things. Any feedback is appreciated.

I really think you should use Becker as your primary study guide. I know it's more expensive than the other review courses, but it's definitely worth it. You already have the book so I would try to get the lecture DVD and Passmaster Software, which has all the MC questions on it. Reading the Wiley book is awful and I think it's best used to practice more MC questions. For me, I used Becker and I supplemented it with the Wiley books - I felt the combo really prepared me for the exam. Not too familiar with Gleim, but it might be worth getting for more practice. For REG, you need to do as many MC questions as possible to do well on the exam. Good luck!

Hi buddy,

Sorry about the score, but from a guy who took both
Becker and Roger, I would say Becker helped with REG well because of the instructor. After failing AUD and BEC numerous times(see below), I switched to Roger and I was
able to pass. Anyways since 3 times and didn't pass, try
Roger, Give it a shot, he gives you a discount for past
other prep students.

For me this was my strategy.

ROGER CPA + WILEY(Provided by Roger CPA) + Gleim CPA(55
bucks get you 2000 questions). Hey it worked for me and
for you too. Keep going and Good Luck. Soon you be a CPA!

Futrcpa - I think that the study materials really depend on each person. I've used Becker multiple times but the lectures remind me of my acct prof at school! It couldn't get through me coz I was so bored. I used Yaeger and the lectures are in 'plain english'. And yes, Phil is all over the place but at least he's not like a robot. LOL. If $ is not an issue, then definitely switch materials and see if another study program work for you. Or you can use this website to test yourself for sections that you are weak in: http://www.cpareviewforfree.com/index.cfm. It's free. If I didn't pass a section, I would go back to the Yeager book and read and pound the book in my head until I memorized it. I ended up memorizing a lot of things and it helped me in the test. I finally passed from a 68 to an 81. Goodluck!
