Hi everyone! Tomorrow I'll be having my very first Big 4
interview (phone interview)for an Summer/Fall 2012
Assurance internship. I am super nervous! I was granted
an interview through a referral. Is there any tips you
can give me to prepare for tomorrow in terms of what kind
of questions will I be asked?! I want to get into the
Banking & Capital Markets group and I don't plan on
leaving after 2-3 years, I'm in it for the long haul!
Here is a quick background summary:
School: Baruch College (full time student)
Year: Upper Junior/Senior
Major: Accounting Minor: Graphic Design
GPA: 3.7
Clubs: VP of Marketing of BAP / Ascend (Joined
this semester, will be going for officer position next
semester)
Work Experience: Currently a full time intern (40+
hours a week) at a private equity firm as an accounting
intern for funds, previously interned at Morgan Stanley
Smith Barney as a Wealth Management Intern
Other: I am also a freelance graphic designer and
tennis coach
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!! :)

Firstly, thanks for the advice, it really did come in
hand! I got through my phone interview and am invited for
Superday in December! :D
The phone interview consisted of behavioral questions.
Mainly asking about my experiences with leadership and
time management. The interviewer actually asked me about
the hardest class I was taking in college and how I
manage it, which caught me a bit by surprise. Other than
that, it was all behavioral. I got my response within 3
days of interviewing.
Quick question though, is the time between the 1st round
interview and Superday suppose to be that long?

I don't think that you'll have a problem landing that job. GPA is a little low, but they'll consider that you're working 40 hours per week, and that you have excellant prior experience.

The fact is you have no idea whether you'll be in public for the long haul because you have no idea what it's like to work there. To a Big 4 veteran, that kind of statement is going to sound foolish. Not saying not to say it though, the enthusiasm may be appreciated no matter how naive...
