I am hearing varying opinions on the difficulty and competition within the msa program at baruch. Some say it is not very challenging and others say you have to study almost all the time just to get in the B range. Is there anyone in the program/graduated from the program that could shed some light on this? Thanks

Well, I'm just starting this Spring so I don't know if my feedback should be highly value. I have friends who used to be in the program and they said that it was challenging and reputable so I took their word for it.

I originally planned to do a MSA but I switched to Tax. If you already have an undergrad degree in Accounting it won't be that difficult for you.

Thanks for your reply and congrats on starting the program. I was an economics undergrad and have only taken financial accounting so the coursework will be fairly new to me. What were your stats and how long did it take to hear back from admissions after submitting your application?

GMAT 700
Accounting undergrad with 3.58 GPA
Retail Industry

I submitted my app October 22, my app was touched Nov 4 but I got admitted around Nov 20. I applied close to the deadline, hence my late approval. Just to let you know, their GMAT range is from 510 - 720, so with a 600 you be OK as long as other areas of your app are fine as well.

As long as you put in the extra effort you should do well. Yes, Baruch is competitive when it comes to accounting but accounting isn't difficult.
