Are Becker CPA fees deductible under American Opportunity Credit?

Does AICPA come under eligible institution for American Opportunity credit criteria???

I believe the American Opportunity Credit only applies to a 4-yr. degree at an accredited institution, which eliminates Becker.  However, you can always claim the Lifetime Learning credit.

I was researching this lately as well, and the general consensus/short answer is no.

My textbook specifically stated that CPA review courses are not deductible because the IRS or someone important said so.

The review course also doesn't qualify for the lifetime learning credit because this credit is for undergrad, grad, or vocational training only.
