I take my first exam tomorrow- the FAR!! Very nervous, would really like to pass on the first try, but I don't feel extremely confident. Averaged around 70 on the Becker practice test MC, but I did well on the simulations. I realize that they are scored differently but getting a 70 on the practice exams didn't make me feel very confident! Hoping and praying!

Don't let your practice test score psych you out.  FAR is difficult and while you're taking it may seem overwhelming (its A LOT of questions and a looong test).  I got a 74 on my practice test the night before and was sure I had failed the actual test by midway through the 2nd testlet.  I found the simulations fairly easy, but still didn't think it would be enough to pass.  Left the test pissed off and trying not to cry.  Three weeks later found out I passed with an 86.

I think a lot of what happens with these tests is that our brains are just overloaded and spinning with information and adrenalin but when it comes right down to it we really do know more than we think we do.  My advice would be just pace yourself through the test.  Breath.  Read the questions very carefully and try not to second guess yourself.  There will be some questions that you just have no clue about, so  just take an educated guess let them go.  There is always a chance that they could be a pre-test question that won't count anyway.  Try not to focus on the ones you think you are getting wrong, we tend to exaggerate those in our mind.  And remember, everbody walks out of this test thinking "what just happened???????", but the odds are you will do better than you think!  All you need is a 75....totally doable!

GOOD LUCK!!!

like Mary said, dont let the practice exams fool you. I thought it was too much information and was pretty sure I failed. I passed and hope you will also. GL!
