mbhl,
I used Gleim study software and book. My method is answer each question in a subunit until I understand exactly what they are testing. I don't read the book unless I am just not getting it from the software.
I recognized at least 30 questions that were word for word out of Gleim. I noticed this when I took the CPA exam as well, but it was 4-5 questions at most.
I studied about 55 hours for part 1. There were only about 5 questions that I totally guessed on (10 questions are for research and are not graded so that was probably them). There were about 20 questions that I narrowed it down to 2 and I picked what I thought was best. The other 65 I was very confident I picked the right answer.
