I already posted here, my concerns re. REG exam, I will repeat for information of others who did not read, well I took REG in January for the second time first time I got 72 (that time I could not complete second sim.) and this time I got 69, this time when left test center I thought, I will get at least 90, coz I complete both sims with 100% and also I new 80% of questions in MCQ. I am lost now. Anybody had same experience ?? Maybe I need to change my study techniques or materials ? Any advise who had same exprience. I am using Becker 2007. What I was doing wrong ? Your insight is very appreciated.

Good luck to all of you

Bad luck relative to pre-test questions?  Maybe all of the questions you got incorrect counted and some of those correct questions were pre-test.  Just a guess.  I would chalk that up to bad luck, unless the questions were such that you answered using a general rule when they were tricking you by testing on an exception.

I doubt anyone here can really offer a good explanation.  Scoring is a mystery.  While their methodology is somewhat disclosed, no one knows which questions were pre-test, the weight of each question, etc.

I would guess that you had a good overall knowledge of the material but you did not know the details, this may have lead you to believe you got the problems right when you did not realize how a little detail changed everything.  How did you score when you did the questions in the books? You should be able to get 80% right.

I agree with both posts. I think part of it can be luck and part of it can be trickery on behalf of the examiners. While studying for BEC/FAR i had practice exams where I thought i did well but got like a 40-50. And then i would discover that i got tricked by small details.

As far as feelings after the exam, I thought I had done much better on BEC than on FAR but that was not really the case. The curve and the pretest questions can really throw things out of the order.

I would suggest that when you are doing practice questions and see a trick or you get the question wrong, write down the question number (it can be found on the upper left hand side in becker) and redo those questions as part of your final review. I did that and it helped a lot.

Dont get discouraged and best of luck to you!

Appreciate for feedback,

I was scoring 70-80 on becker, and 70-75 on Bisk, well let's chalk that up for bed luck. Now I am reading through everything again in details.

Good luck
