Hi all.... i will be starting REG prep from 3rd march .. using Becker 2008 materials .... will be taking it for the first time so wanted some tips on how to prep specially the sims ..

Follow the Becker plan all the way through.  It works.  Don't fall behind on homework MC questions. 

If you know the material that will take care of the sims.  It's doubtful you'll see one just like the Becker sims but I would do the Becker sims as a review and to orient yourself with how to complete the sims.

It is sort of hard to give advice not knowing your background and experience.  When i took the exam i had a pretty good understanding of tax.  so i just focused more on studying the business law.  I used becker and passed the first time with an 85.

 

ooops actually i got an 82

actually i took courses on tax and business law in univ thats about it no work experience in this area so i guess i will need more time to study .. thanks for all the help .. i guess i will follow the becker plan and try to be on schedule ...

Hi leena!  I am in the same boat as you.  I had college courses, but very little 'real-life' tax work.

I am in governmental accounting.  I am starting to study for regulation next week and am planning on using Becker.  I took regulation back in 2006, but only scored a 68.
